Artist's Inspiration
I got approved to enter Agios Oros, an Orthodox Spiritual center, back in 2011. There is an application process to get in so thankfully my friend Christos was able to handle that. This ‘Holy Mountain’ is forbidden to women and children.
There are twenty some monasteries on the mountain. We were trekking from one monastery to another and it was starting to get late. We were in the middle of nowhere on the side of a steep mountain while the sun was going down over the sea to the left. The only light source quickly became the moon.
Finally, we saw a small window with a bright light in the distance. We knocked on the door and they welcomed us in. They cooked us a nice meal and we went to bed.
