Artist's Inspiration

Last Christmas, we visited this medieval castle town, Monemvasia. When you look at it from this view, you have no idea that there is a medieval fortress on the backside, carved into the rock. The only way to reach Monemvasia was by boat, while later on a paved pathway was constructed to connect the castle entrance to the mainland. This is how the name came to be, meaning “single passage”.

Walking around the paved streets there was like a trip back in time to the Byzantine Empire.

A vibrant seaside landscape captures an island's tranquility, with vivid colors and lush greenery.
