Artist's Inspiration

There is a small beach in North Eastern Aegina, near Vagia. An islet sits close to the shore and it has a church on it named Ekklisia Zoodochos Pigi, I think. Arja and I went swimming and painting here on Christmas day. The light was changing faster than I could keep up and the painting took a different direction. We had some wine and my wife was talking to her friend on the phone.

I started this painting last Christmas at the beach. I stopped working on it for a while to focus on the Acropolis painting.
