The island with the statue that inspired the Statue of Liberty in New York City. The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek sun-god Helios.

I had been dreaming about visiting the island of Rhodes since I was a kid. The history there with the colossus statue was captivating to me as I had a keen interest in Greek mythology.

When we were in Rhodes looking out at the place it was possibly situated, I felt like something was missing. I thought, “Someone should rebuild it”. With these thoughts, I wanted to create a painting about it. Something like a dream of seeing it standing in the port of Rhodes, once again.

Custom orders are most welcome, feel free to ask for any item with any adjustment or anything else you want me to make. We can write something special on the back of the artwork or on a separate card.
