Artist's Inspiration

Bring the warmth of summer in the Greek islands to your space with this painting of a chapel in the port of Aegina Island. This double-domed chapel is dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, Agios Nikolaos. The Chapel of Saint Nicholas Thalassinos has been on the harbor since 1693. It was built in the 17th century by craftsmen from Paros, hence the Cycladic style.

In this painting, I captured the colors and light I felt during my visits there. I enjoyed going to the chapel to pray before a journey off the island.
