Artist's InspirationI made this painting based on my memories from visiting the island of Crete in Greece. My company was kind enough to allow me to transition to a remote position, allowing me to work from anywhere. I was not sure if this is a wise idea for my product design career but my heart said go for it. Sometimes one has to take risks in life in order to explore new paths, I guess.
I spent some holiday time in Chania, Crete. My favorite place is the area of the “Old Venetian Port of Chania” with all of its cafes, shops and restaurants formed in a half-circle. One side is looking at another with views of the captivating lighthouse in its Venetian style. The warm summer walks at night with friends. It was here that I realized that I wanted to paint more things like my first painting “Thessaloniki in Memory”. A new collection of memories and moments from travel and life.
A picturesque waterfront scene under a crescent moon, capturing the tranquil beauty of city lights reflecting on calm waters.
