Prints of artwork are complemented by adding a mat. Select the option to include a soft white, beveled edge, 4-ply mat with your print. A mat gives an elevated “focused in” look to the artwork.

Remember that a mat will add to the final dimensions of your finished piece (so if your artwork is 16×20", your final framed size would be 20×24").

The island with the statue that inspired the Statue of Liberty in New York City. The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek sun-god Helios.

I had been dreaming about visiting the island of Rhodes since I was a kid. The history there with the colossus statue was captivating to me as I had a keen interest in Greek mythology.

When we were in Rhodes looking out at the place it was possibly situated, I felt like something was missing. I thought, “Someone should rebuild it”. With these thoughts, I wanted to create a painting about it. Something like a dream of seeing it standing in the port of Rhodes, once again.
